Incentivizing dietary choices among children: Review of experimental evidence

This article reviews recent evidence on the effectiveness of using small monetary and non-monetary incentives to encourage children choose healthier foods. We discuss rationale for such from perspective behavioral economics, controversial aspects interventions. In reviewing evidence, we compare key parameters schemes, as their nature (monetary or not), frequency at which they are given how long in place. Overall, find encouraging, even if there is little succeed permanently changing dietary habits. They nevertheless very effective behavior short run.
